Father’s Day Fabric Trays
June 11 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm$55
Come learn how to make folded fabric trays for Father’s Day gifts or for yourself! These are great for holding small items, like binder clips, coins, earbuds, you name it. Make any size you’d like! Big or small, can use fat quarters or leftover fabric from other projects.
During this hands-on class, you will cut and sew a folded fabric tray that can be permanently stitched or made with snaps to store flat. You can change up the dimensions and stitch your tray to be pointy or squared off at the corners. It’s so easy and fun that you’ll immediately want to make more! Once you learn the technique, you can piece future trays (like the sample in the photo) if you want something fancier.
This is a project class suitable for experienced beginners as well as more advanced sewists ages 18 and up. Please note that I will not be teaching students how to sew in this class–you MUST know how to use a sewing machine and know basic sewing terminology so we can spend class time stitching this project.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:
– Sewing machine with foot pedal and power cable
– Sewing kit (the usual…scissors or snips, thread, seam ripper, extra sewing machine needles, ruler or hem gauge, etc.)
– Disappearing ink fabric marker
– 1 fat quarter for main fabric
